A Kentucky native, Jan is the mother of 23-year-old twins and a professional journalist. She has formed sports programs for children with disabilities for more than a decade. The Kentucky Children’s Health and Fitness Fund represents the synthesis of Jan’s natural instinct for healthy parenting and her vocation as a communicator. To form the nonprofit organization, she gathered friends and colleagues, dedicated separately to healthy living efforts worldwide, and convinced them to focus on the emergency health crisis facing Kentucky families.
A recent graduate of Northern Kentucky University with degrees in Business and Special Education, Bethany brings a unique skill set to this venture. Her natural compassion and understanding of the needs of children energizes her to find new partners, ideas and fundraising methods. Bethany is key to all of the events in which we participate, as she is unflappable under pressure.
Kentucky Children’s Health and Fitness Fund has spent two years developing a nationally unique, multi-media, multi-lingual communication project to teach wellness to very young children and their families, based on best practices from dozens of experts around the world.
